The short answer is: almost everything. The vast majority of products bought from a Brazilian store travel without any problem. There is a short list of items prohibited for safety on air transport, plus a group of products that need extra attention. Everything is below.
The categories that ship out the most
A snapshot of what our operation ships most today:
Cookware, knives, and handicrafts
Cast iron cookware, artisan knives, clay and wood pieces. It's the fastest growing category because there is no equivalent overseas. Heavy items need reinforced packaging, which we already do.
Coffee, honey, and food items
Specialty coffee, honey, traditional sweets, cookies, spices, and flours. Always processed and sealed. Some destinations require a detailed content declaration, and we guide you on how to fill it out.
Books and Bibles
Books in Brazilian Portuguese and Bibles are recurring requests from those living abroad and from churches. These are dense items, so actual weight usually matters more than volumetric weight.
Cosmetics and beauty
Hair care lines, makeup, and Brazilian fragrances. Products with alcohol above a certain level are shipped as restricted cargo, so confirm before buying in quantity.
Clothing, shoes, and sneakers
Beachwear, activewear, kids' clothing, footwear, and team shirts. Bulky and light, it's the classic case where consolidating and repacking reduces shipping costs.
Courses and printed materials
Workbooks, course materials, and printed matter in general, highly sought after by those who study or teach in Portuguese outside Brazil.
Items prohibited in any shipment
Under international air transport safety rules, the items below cannot be shipped under any circumstances, to any destination. This is not our decision and there are no exceptions.
Weapons and ammunition
Firearms and their parts, replicas, toy guns that look real, items made with 3D printers, and firing accessories.
Explosives and hazardous materials
Fireworks, fuels, flammable liquids, aerosols, matches, lighters, compressed gases, radioactive material, and hazardous waste.
Illegal substances
Drugs, narcotics, and psychotropic substances of any kind.
Money and high-value items
Cash, checks, negotiable instruments, precious stones, high-value jewelry, ivory, gold, and silver.
Perishables and biological material
Live animals, human remains, organs, embryos, and any item that requires refrigeration to avoid spoilage.
Tobacco and vape
Cigarettes, cigars, tobacco products, and vaping devices. The restriction is absolute for the United States.
Alcoholic beverages
As a rule, prohibited for shipments to individuals.
Pornographic material
Content that violates the laws of the destination country.
Products that require attention
These are not prohibited, but they depend on the destination, quantity, or packaging. It's worth asking before finalizing the purchase, especially for large volumes.
Cosmetics and perfumes
Most go without a problem, but items with alcohol above a certain level are classified as restricted cargo and may require specific packaging or shipping method. Confirm before buying in quantity.
Food items
Coffee, sweets, cookies, spices, and processed sealed flours are the most shipped. Some countries require a detailed declaration and block products of animal origin. We guide you on how to declare.
Medications and supplements
It depends on the destination's health regulations and often requires a prescription or local registration. Always treat it on a case-by-case basis.
Electronics with lithium batteries
Cell phones, laptops, and items with built-in batteries follow specific air transport rules. Loose batteries are usually refused.
Replicas and branded products
Counterfeit products are seized by customs and can result in a fine for the recipient. We only ship original items.
Plants, seeds, and wooden items
Many countries require a phytosanitary certificate. Wooden handicrafts sometimes require proven treatment.
Each country has its own rules
In addition to the general list, the destination country imposes its own restrictions, and they change frequently. Animal-origin food, health products, and wooden items are the ones that vary most from one destination to another. Before shipping, our team checks the current rule for your country and guides you on how to declare the content to avoid customs delays.
Questions about what can be sent
How do I know if my product can be shipped?
If it's not on the prohibited list, it probably can. If in doubt, send a photo or product link on WhatsApp before buying. It's cheaper to confirm beforehand than to find out when the item is already in the warehouse.
What happens if I buy something prohibited without knowing?
We'll let you know as soon as we identify the item upon arrival. It won't be shipped internationally, and you can choose between returning it to the store (with the return fee set out in the Terms) or authorizing disposal.
Is the rule the same for all countries?
No. The prohibited list applies to any destination, but each country has its own restrictions on top of it, and they change frequently. Before shipping, we check your destination's rules on a case-by-case basis.
Can I send used items or gifts?
Yes, as long as they're not on the prohibited list. Keep in mind that the destination customs assesses the declared value, and a gift is not automatically exempt from taxes.
Do you open packages to check?
We photograph every package upon arrival, both outside and inside, which reveals the contents. That's how we identify prohibited items before they become a problem at customs.
